Cunnison

The Cunnison family were proprietors for several hundred years of Edradour and Ardgie, the head of the house being Baron Cunnison of Edradour.

The name and the family alike have disappeared.

The older form of the name was McConish.

Kinnison

From Cunieson, a patronymic from the personal name Conan which was borne by an illegitimate son of Henry, Duke of Atholl, from whom many bearers are descended.

Kinnison is also the patronymic from an Anglicized form of the Gaelic personal name Coinneach (Kenneth).

Cunieson / Cunysoun

Cunieson is an alternative spelling of Cunysoun which can be followed back to John Cunysoun dated to 1474.
